[Heb 3:16-19] For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, [was it] not all who came out of Egypt, [led] by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? [Was it] not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
[Heb 11:1 NKJV] Now faith is the substance (hypostasis) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
NOT TRUE ->Real Bible faith comes out of the recreated, born-again spirit or heart. Not one ounce of faith comes out of your head. <-NOT TRUE!
[Heb 3:12 NKJV] Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
[Jer 17:9 NKJV] "The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
Hebrews 6:18 it is impossible for God to lie
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him
[Heb 4:1] Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. [Exo 33:14] And He said, "My Presence will go [with you], and I will give you rest." [Deu 12:8-10] "You shall not at all do as we are doing here today--every man doing whatever [is] right in his own eyes-- "for as yet you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which the LORD your God is giving you.
"But [when] you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety, then there will be the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide…
[Heb 4:2] For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard [it]. [Deu 28:64-65 NKJV] "Then the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known--wood and stone. "And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul.
[Heb 4:3] For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: "So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest,' " although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [Jos 1:13 NKJV] "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, 'The LORD your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.'
[Heb 4:4] For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh [day] in this way: "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works"; Gen 2:2
[Heb 4:5] and again in this [place]: "They shall not enter My rest." (Psalm 95). The number one requirement for entering into His rest is faith, believing Him.
[Heb 4:6] Since therefore it remains that some [must] enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,
[Heb 4:7] again He designates a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a long time, as it has been said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts."
[Heb 4:8] For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.
[Heb 4:9] There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
[Heb 4:10] For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God [did] from His.
[Heb 4:11] Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
[Heb 4:12] For the word of God [is] living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
[Rom 12:1-2 NKJV] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
[Heb 4:13] And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things [are] naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we [must give] account.
The church is a microcosm of the wilderness experience. God has called us out of Egypt (the world). Don’t spend your calling on complaining, gossiping, hating your brother or sister, dividing the body. Let the Word of God dwell within you and help you recognize the rest He has invited you to enjoy with Him.
[2Sa 22:47 NKJV] "The LORD lives! Blessed [be] my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!
Don’t strike the Rock
